My Sugar Coach uses third-party artificial intelligence service providers to help provide features such as AI Coach responses, personalized coaching messages, meal-related insights, glucose-pattern explanations, suggested next actions, and meal or nutrition suggestions where applicable.

When you use AI-powered functionality, relevant information may be transmitted to our AI service providers for processing. Depending on the feature, this may include glucose readings, meal logs, food and nutrition information, dietary preferences, diabetes-related or other health and wellness information you choose to provide, your questions or prompts, and other context needed to generate a personalized response.

We limit the information transmitted to what is reasonably necessary to provide the requested AI-powered feature. We currently use OpenAI to provide certain AI-powered functionality. OpenAI processes information according to its applicable data-processing and privacy terms.

AI-generated content is intended for informational and educational support only. It is not medical diagnosis, medical treatment, emergency medical advice, or a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

My Sugar Coach provides informational and coaching support only. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and is not a replacement for advice from a doctor, registered dietitian, diabetes educator, or other qualified healthcare professional.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share information with service providers that help operate the app and website, including providers for hosting, analytics, crash reporting, email delivery, push notifications, customer support, and AI processing for AI-assisted features.

These providers are permitted to process information only as needed to provide services to My Sugar Coach, including AI-powered functionality you request or use. We may also share information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate misuse of the service.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No app, website, network, or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so users should keep account credentials private and contact us if they suspect unauthorized access.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain account records, support user requests, improve reliability, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce applicable terms. When information is no longer needed, we will delete it or de-identify it where reasonable.

If you delete your account, we delete account data associated with your app account, including health records, profile data, meal logs, glucose logs, meal plans, preferences, and coaching history, subject to limited exceptions. We may retain limited pseudonymized identifiers after account deletion to prevent repeated trial abuse, protect the service, and support security and fraud-prevention obligations.
